Since 2022, she has served as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and staff nurse at the Buffalo VA Medical Center in Buffalo, New York. As part of her many responsibilities, she provides identification bands, obtains vital signs, explains procedures and escorts patients to physicians on the floor. Shortly before joining Buffalo VA Medical Center, Ms. Kabel began working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in West Seneca, New York, in the same capacity in 2021. Her expertise in geriatrics and veterans care, and dedication to serving those who have served the nation, has been instrumental in her success.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Kabel contributed her skills as an LPN and staff nurse at Southgate Medical Group in West Seneca, New York, for over five years, between 2015 and 2021. Her earlier tenure included service as a staff nurse at Father Baker Manor within Catholic Health in Orchard Park, New York, from 2010 to 2015. For nearly two decades, Ms. Kabel also excelled as a staff nurse at St. Francis Home in Williamsville, New York, between 1992 and 2011. Additionally, she worked as a practical nurse and floor nurse at South Gate Medical in West Seneca for five years, following an initial 25-year tenure as a floor nurse within Catholic Health’s nursing home system. Ms. Kabel’s extensive experience across these roles has provided her with deep insight into patient needs and the complexities of long-term care.
Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Ms. Kabel has been involved as a consultant and representative for PartyLite US and Melaleuca Inc. since 1997. These roles have showcased her dedication outside of the healthcare sector as a sales professional for many years.
Ms. Kabel’s educational foundation was established with her graduation from Erie 1 BOCES in Lancaster, New York, in 1991, where she earned an LPN credential. This academic achievement laid the groundwork for her nursing career and continues to support her ongoing contributions to patient care. Ms. Kabel considers earning her license to be the highlight of her career.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Ms. Kabel maintains active involvement in community service initiatives. She frequently volunteers at area food pantries and participates in blood donation drives through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
In 2006, Ms. Kabel was recognized for her excellence in nursing as Nurse of the Year by St. Francis Home. She credits much of her success to her caring nature, loyalty and persistence, qualities that have defined her approach to patient care and teamwork throughout her career. The encouragement of family members has also played an important role in shaping her path.

Looking ahead, Ms. Kabel intends to continue developing as a nurse while expanding efforts to assist those in need by volunteering at soup kitchens and contributing to warehouse operations at Feed More’s new facility in Hamburg, New York.
