She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., where she serves as chairperson of the Omega Nu Omega chapter and participates in the sorority’s medical response team. Moreover, Ms. Akins’s involvement with the National Black Nurses Association further underscores her dedication to advancing the nursing profession.
Ms. Akins’s civic contributions are equally noteworthy. She volunteers with her local church ministry and leads the health ministry at Heart of Mercy Ministries, reflecting her passion for community health education and outreach.
