Yolee Casagrande, DNP, RN, PHN, NE-BC, Associate Administrator of Nursing with the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.

An accomplished nurse and nursing administrator, Dr. Casagrande has worked at Keck Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) since 1991.  She started her nursing career as an oncology nurse and now, serves as an associate administrator of nursing.  In addition, Dr. Casagrande has earned a position as adjunct clinical assistant professor of in Population and Public Health Science USC Keck.  She has published research on COVID-19 and colorectal cancers.

Ms. Casagrande prepared for her career in nursing at Cerritos College, where she earned an associate degree in nursing in 1989. She continued her higher education at Walden University, graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing in leadership and management in 2012. In 2018, she concluded her higher education at California State University, Fullerton, earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

With decades of experience to her credit, Dr. Casagrande began her career as a staff registered nurse with Kaiser Permanente Hospital from 1989 to 1991. She later served as a staff registered nurse and research nurse at the USC Kenneth Norris Cancer Hospital and a clinical practice manager for the USC Department of Colorectal Surgery. To keep abreast of developments in the nursing profession, Dr. Casagrande is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, and the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, among other professional affiliations.

For her accomplishments, Dr. Casagrande was recognized as Nurse Mentor of the Year by the Nurses of USC in 2022. The Los Angeles Business Journal additionally named her to Women of Influence in Health Care in 2022, and in 2021, she was the recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Champions of Humanistic Care award. The Keck Medical Center of USC designated her a COVID All Star in 2020, in 2013 she earned a Nurse Humanitarian of the Year award, 2010 Padres Contra El Cancer Volunteer of the Year, 2008 Anaheim Ducks Community Hero, and in 2008 USC/Norris Hospital Bob Chandler Courage Award. Dr. Casagrande attributes her success to her work ethic and professional mentors. In the coming years, she hopes to write a book chronicling her experiences and continue her love of dancing flamenco.
