Phoebe Cabotaje Andes, Women’s Health Nurse and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in obstetrics and higher education.

A former nurse and educator, Ms. Andes celebrates an illustrious career marked by countless women whose health and lives have been improved by her work. She started her career as an exchange nurse for St. Luke’s Women’s Hospital in New York City, where she began developing the skills that her education laid the groundwork for. Ms. Andes holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the State University of the Philippines and a Master of Arts from Columbia University. After serving as a charge nurse, she took on prominent roles, including faculty member for Far Eastern University, head nurse for St. Elizabeth Hospital, associate professor for Middlesex County College, and assistant professor for Passaic Community College. She concluded her career in 1998 as the director of nursing for Valley Rest Nursing Home. In her retirement, Ms. Andes serves as an adjunct faculty member for the Trinitas School of Nursing to continue her impact in her community. She also previously acted as director of nursing for the Pineland School of Practical Nursing.

In recognition of her professional excellence, Ms. Andes was the recipient of a Nurse Recognition Award from the New Jersey League for Nursing, a Most Distinguished Alumni Award for Leadership from the University of the Philippines Alumni Foundation, and she was named Nurse of the Year by the New Jersey State Nurses Association. In addition, Ms. Andes was honored by the Philippine American Medical Society, the Asian American Cultural Heritage Council of New Jersey and the Philippine-American Lion Club of New York. As she looks toward the future, Ms. Andes intends to continue in projects that ignite her passion while enjoying her retirement.
