Natalie Jane Morgan, RN, Registered Nurse at WakeMed Cary Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements and leadership in Health Care.

Ms. Morgan has been celebrated with distinction for her enduring commitment to healing, leadership, and the transformation of life through faith and compassion. A registered nurse, global healthcare professional, and advocate for empowerment and personal transformation, her life has been defined not by circumstance, but by courage that allows her to rise, begin again, and trust that faith can lead us to places we never imagined.

Ms. Morgan’s calling to nursing began in her childhood, when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She grew up watching nurses care for her mother with grace, tenderness, and unwavering presence. To her, they were not just caregivers: they were heroes. Their compassion and strength left a deep imprint on her heart and inspired her to dedicate her own life to bringing comfort, healing, and dignity to others in their most vulnerable moments.

After beginning her nursing career in North Carolina, Ms. Morgan reached a turning point that would redefine her future. Having entered a relationship at the age of fourteen that eventually became an abusive marriage, she had known little else in her formative years. Leaving that life required extraordinary courage and faith. She walked away quietly, guided not by certainty but by a deep belief that her life could be rebuilt, that her voice could be reclaimed, and that she could become the woman she was always meant to be.

Soon after, a travel nursing opportunity appeared in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, through Helen Ziegler & Associates, Inc., a nursing recruiting company based out of Toronto, Canada. Ms. Morgan felt called to take the leap. With a suitcase, determination, and a prayer, she stepped into the unknown.

Ms. Morgan’s journey overseas became a decade of transformation. At the world-renowned King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, she provided compassionate care first to Bedouin patients from remote desert regions, and later to dignitaries and members of the Saudi Royal family. Serving in such a globally respected institution required discretion, professionalism, cultural humility, and a deep sensitivity to the human experience. Ms. Morgan excelled not only clinically, but emotionally, learning to connect with patients across languages, customs, and cultures.

The Middle East changed Ms. Morgan: not by erasing who she was, but by revealing her strength. The abaya and shayla, which once felt foreign, became symbols of power and inner peace. The desert, vast and silent, became a place of reflection, healing, and rebirth.

During her ten years abroad, Ms. Morgan traveled to thirty-three countries, formed friendships that transcended borders, and learned to see the world, and herself, with clarity and compassion. She discovered independence. She rediscovered lightness and happiness in her heart. She learned what it means to live fully in one’s truth.

When she returned to the United States, Ms. Morgan resumed her nursing career at WakeMed in Cary, North Carolina, the very hospital where she began. But she was no longer the same young nurse who had once walked its halls. She returned grounded, confident, globally minded, and deeply attuned to the emotional dimensions of care. Today, she brings that expanded wisdom to every patient encounter, fully recognizing that healing is as much heart as it is science.

Ms. Morgan is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization as a psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) at Walden University. During her graduate studies, she was invited to join the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement, an honor recognizing academic excellence, service, and leadership potential.

Ms. Morgan is also writing her first memoir, a reflection on her years in Saudi Arabia and the journey of rising from silence to empowerment. Her intention is to inspire others to trust their intuition, honor their worth, and believe in the possibility of transformation even in the most unexpected places.

Ms. Morgan’s journey is also blessed by Clay, her fiancé, whose life’s work, like hers, is rooted in service, leadership, and faith. Clay is a Harvard graduate and currently pursuing his doctorate. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he began his career as a police officer, rising through the ranks to chief of police, where he demonstrated integrity, courage, and a steadfast dedication to protecting others. Today, he serves in an executive leadership capacity in the healthcare industry, continuing to live out his calling to serve and uplift those around him. Together, they share a relationship grounded in faith, gratitude, and a shared desire to make a positive impact on the world. Their connection is a testament to divine timing and the understanding that when two souls are aligned through God, life unfolds with peace, strength, and clarity of purpose.

Ms. Morgan grew up in a close-knit and loving family that remains her greatest source of strength. Her father, Richard Morgan, shaped her belief in mindful and holistic living through his approach to health during her mother’s battle with cancer. She shares an equally close bond with her twin sister, Lori Kemeny, and her brother, David Morgan, both of whom embody the values that continue to guide her. Lori’s unwavering guidance, support, and compassion have carried Ms. Morgan through life’s transitions, while David has instilled in her a deep sense of discipline, resilience, and integrity. Her brother and sister continue to be a steadfast source of strength in her life. Ms. Morgan is also deeply grateful to their spouses, John and Norma, whose kindness and steady encouragement have provided comfort and strength during life’s most difficult moments.

Ms. Morgan treasures the influence of two beloved uncles: Dr. Jon Morgan, a respected physician in South Carolina with whom she shares not only a passion for medicine but also a similar outlook on life, and her late Uncle Buck, who taught her to embrace life fully, joyfully, and without taking it too seriously. His humor and wisdom remain a lasting reminder to live with gratitude and to find joy in every moment. She lovingly cherishes her nieces and nephews, finding in them a constant source of joy and renewal. For Ms. Morgan, family is both her anchor and her reminder that love, gratitude, and faith are the truest forms of healing.

To Ms. Morgan, being inducted into Marquis Who’s Who is not simply a recognition of professional success, but rather a celebration of resilience. It honors not only the woman who chose faith over fear, truth over silence, and purpose over circumstance, but also the woman who faced adversity and found the courage to rise above it. She is a firm believer in the mantra that “purpose can be born from pain. Sometimes we must walk into the unknown to find ourselves again. To care for others is both a duty and a blessing—it is how I honor the life I’ve been given.” Today, Ms. Morgan stands as a woman who rebuilt her life from the ground up, defined by courage, anchored in compassion, and driven by a heart devoted to serving the world with grace.
