Ms. Dyer is a leading health care professional and educator who has enjoyed a diverse career for over two decades. In 2014, she became a nurse practitioner at TeamHealth. Simultaneously, she has served as a nocturnist nurse practitioner at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford since 2016, as an adjunct faculty at Tusculum University, teaching graduate nurse practitioner students, since 2017, and as a nurse practitioner at CHI Memorial Hospital, Catholic Health Initiatives, since 2021. Passionate about providing high-quality and compassionate care for her patients, Ms. Dyer also began serving as an associate at Theoria Medical, a pioneering health care and technology leader in tech-enabled, value-based primary care, in 2024.
Leveraging her previous work engagements, Ms. Dyer worked for several medical centers and hospitals as a registered nurse for over 25 years and as a nurse practitioner for over 15 years. Her internal, hospital and nocturnal medicine expertise has been pivotal to her career success. In preparation for her career, Ms. Dyer received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Pensacola Christian College in 1998 and a Master of Science in nursing from Carson Newman College (now Carson-Newman University) in 2008. Ms. Dyer’s memberships in such organizations as the Society of Hospital Medicine, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Obesity Action Coalition have influenced her success.
Reflecting on her experiences, Ms. Dyer spent most of her time as a nurse in the intensive care unit (ICU), where she gained experience in various ICUs. During her practitioner years, she worked in bariatric and general surgery for the premier surgical associate’s bariatric division in Knoxville, Tennessee. Influenced by her parent’s advice to pursue a career in nursing, Ms. Dyer has always been passionate about the field. Eager for the future, she intends to become a provider and manage employees. She also plans to return to college to obtain a doctorate and become a professor.
