Samantha K. Breeding, MSN, RN, CNOR, nurse educator at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.

Ms. Breeding, an experienced health care professional of over 15 years, has been affiliated with St. Louis Children’s Hospital since 2023 as a nurse educator. Her role involves planning and implementing orientation for new staff members, developing and presenting critical education for continued standard practice adherence, and keeping up with regulatory education records. Since joining her health care facility, Ms. Breeding has onboarded 15 new nurses to the specialized area of the operating room. She has also been instrumental in teaching patients about fire safety timeouts and training, proper counting techniques, sterile techniques and proper skin antisepsis.

Beginning her health care career in 2010 as a surgical tech at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a level-one trauma center, Ms. Breeding’s passion for the field led her to pursue advanced studies. By 2016, she had garnered a position as a registered nurse at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in the neuro intensive care unit. In 2020, she worked as a nurse at the Dialysis Center at DaVita Inc. Subsequently, Ms. Breeding rejoined Barnes-Jewish Hospital as a charge nurse, where she remained in position until accepting a position as a staff educator in 2022.

In preparation for her nursing career, Ms. Breeding received an associate degree from Southwestern Illinois College in 2016, a Bachelor of Science in nursing education from Saint Louis University in 2019 and a Master of Science in nursing education from Webster University in 2023. Her credentials include becoming a registered nurse and certified perioperative nurse. In addition to her formal education, Ms. Breeding is active in her professional community as a member and 2024 president-elect of the St. Louis chapter of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN). Her success has earned her a Nursing Leadership Award from Saint Louis University and a nomination for Rising Star by the March of Dimes. She was also featured in an article for her contributions as a former AORN mentee. Ms. Breeding credits her ongoing success to her perseverance and drive to live a better life than when she was a child.
