In preparation for her career in nursing, Ms. Humphrey attended Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and completed additional studies at Chamberlain University. Currently, she works as a registered nurse at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
A lifelong achiever, Ms. Humphrey was inducted into the National Honor Society during her high school education. She graduated from Franklin University with honors. Additionally, Ms. Humphrey was involved with the Six Sigma Linen Project.
In her current post at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Ms. Humphrey sees patients, handles assessments, administers medications, and collaborates with physicians. She reassesses patients each day after a morning check-in, and hands off medical reports to the next shift of nurses. Ms. Humphrey is a medical-surgical nurse and works with trauma patients.
Ms. Humphrey has been a professional nurse since 1987. She spent most of her time working with the Mount Carmel Health System, serving poor and underprivileged patients. During her nursing career, she spent a decade working in oncology, and a brief period in orthopedic care. In the coming years, Ms. Humphrey wants to finish her studies to become a nurse practitioner, which will allow her to be more autonomous and make diagnoses.
