Francesca Lorraine Stracke, DNP, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse at MultiCare Health System, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Health Care.

Dr. Stracke is a leading health care professional affiliated with MultiCare Health System as an advanced registered nurse practitioner since 2015. Over the past decade with the organization, she was relocated from one region to another to establish a palliative career program in Spokane, Washington.

As a licensed practical nurse since 1991 and a registered nurse since 1995, Dr. Stracke leverages decades of experience in her role, providing consultations at two local hospitals in the Spokane region. She is also involved with program development within the departments, serves on several councils that support the health system, and serves on boards. Moreover, Dr. Stracke serves as a provider care responder, responding to the needs of other providers within the company that require mentorship.

Passionate about palliative care, Dr. Stracke has garnered tremendous, diverse experience throughout her career in this niche area of medicine. Her ability to care for diverse individuals with advanced, complex and terminal disease processes and her expertise in advance care planning and palliative symptom management has been instrumental in her ongoing success. Dr. Stracke’s leadership and knowledge have earned her respect as a sought-after medical professional in her field.

In addition to her contributions to the MultiCare Health System, Dr. Stracke joined the University of Washington in Tacoma in 2024 as a clinical associate. This opportunity has allowed her to diversify her skills even more.

In preparation for her career in the health care sector, Dr. Stracke received an Associate Degree in Nursing from South Puget Sound Community College in 1995. Subsequently, she received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Washington in 2010 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Pacific Lutheran University in 2020. Besides her formal education, Dr. Stracke received credentials as a certified hospice and palliative nurse and certified family nurse practitioner.

One of the most challenging yet rewarding times in Dr. Stracke’s career was while working toward her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Having completed her doctorate during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, she recalls the challenges that came along with it. Besides conducting her dissertation virtually, she had to navigate the program independently. Despite the difficulties she encountered, Dr. Stracke persevered.

Professionally, Dr. Stracke is active with several industry-related organizations, including the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Pacific North West Association of Advanced Practice Nurses in Palliative Care. She also holds an associate membership with the Center to Advance Palliative Care. These memberships have allowed Dr. Stracke to remain at the forefront of her field and network with like-minded individuals.

Besides her work-related memberships, Dr. Stracke is engaged in local activities that support the community, including volunteering for a complex health care system. Giving back to worthy causes has been very gratifying.

Dr. Stracke has mentored numerous nurse practitioners, physicians, students and residents throughout her career. She enjoys the opportunity to help others in their educational journey while simultaneously working on her own professional development. She also volunteers to help individuals navigate the complex health care system before they face a crisis. Dr. Stracke attributes much of her success to her drive to help others. Much of it also comes from her faith and her desire to bless others the way she has been blessed.
