Carol C. Wright, LPN

Title: Administrator
Company: Regency Retirement
Location: Jackson, Tennessee, United States

Carol C. Wright, LPN, administrator at Regency Retirement, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.

With over two decades of experience, Ms. Wright has established a successful career in health care. Since 2019, she has excelled as an administrator at Regency Retirement Village, where she oversees the daily operations of the Regency Retirement Assisted Living & Memory Care community. Assisted Living and Memory Care communities are dedicated to offering long-term care for seniors facing various health challenges, such as medical conditions or limited mobility. Regency Retirement Village in Jackson offers a continuum of care, including independent and assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services. Located on 30 acres, the facility provides a warm, family-like atmosphere with activities, chef-inspired meals, housekeeping, and personalized care. They prioritize both physical and emotional well-being, ensuring residents remain engaged, independent, and comfortable throughout all stages of life.

In this role, Ms. Wright leads a team of six directors and works to ensure the community provides the highest quality care and respects the senior population. Additionally, she served for 17 years as a management nurse in quality at Plasma Biological. She also dedicates her time as a volunteer with Western Mental Health, the local community, Tennessee Nurses of Assisted Living, and Tennessee Alzheimer’s. Laying a solid educational foundation, she earned a certification in practical nursing from Whiteville Technical School, completed coursework at Jackson State Community College, and has been a licensed practical nurse for 21 years.

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Wright’s passion for health care was inspired by her mother, who worked in the field and instilled in her a deep sense of dedication. Growing up, she volunteered in health care, motivated by her mother’s example. Her greatest accomplishment is the daily satisfaction she receives from praise by residents, knowing that the staff is well-equipped, and residents have what they need for a healthy day. She also faced and overcame the challenges of Covid-19 in a senior living environment, finding ways to bring joy and connection to the seniors during the shutdown. She feels a deep connection with the seniors, having lost both her parents and grandparents, and to honor her family, she began bringing her iPad and a teacher into the community to play hymns before meals, which the residents sing along to, despite memory issues. Hearing them sing and feeling their appreciation brings her calm and reinforces her belief that she’s in the right place.

Ms. Wright attributes her success to the love and support of her parents, who instilled in her a strong work ethic and passion for everything they did. She also believes that her passion sets her apart from others in her field. For her, health care is more than just a job, as she considers it a deep-seated passion. Throughout her career, she also learned the importance of having a listening ear and an open heart. Looking to the future, she hopes to continue sharing her compassion and inspire others to recognize the profound impact they can have simply by showing care for seniors. This became especially meaningful during the COVID-19 pandemic, when many residents lacked family support, and the staff became like family to them. She is also committed to ensuring that no one feels alone, always making herself available to offer comfort and reassurance.
