Patricia Ramsdell, project manager of orderset harmonization at ALKU, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.

With over three and a half decades of experience, Ms. Ramsdell has built a successful career in health care, specializing in nursing informatics. She currently excels as a project manager with orderset harmonization at ALKU, a position she has held since 2024. The company provides consulting services for the implementation of electronic medical records in healthcare facilities. She is leading a team to develop order sets tailored to specific medical conditions, such as severe asthma attacks, to streamline the process of placing orders for tests, medications, and procedures. This initiative aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery. Her experience also includes serving as project manager at ALKU from 2023 to 2024, healthcare consultant at Huron Consulting Group Inc. from 2022 to 2023, senior consultant at Ettain Group, now ManPowerGroup Inc., from 2019 to 2020, senior consultant at Leidos Health from 2012 to 2019, and registered nurse. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Informatics Association, and the Nebraska Nurse Association. Additionally, she has contributed to Physician Workflow from 2013 to the present and Banner Health from 2008 to 2012.

Laying a solid educational foundation, she earned a diploma in nursing from West Nebraska General Hospital School of Nursing in 1987, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regis University in 1993, and a Master of Science in Nursing in nursing informatics from Grand Canyon University in 2018. She is also certified as a registered nurse. Reflecting on her path, she takes great pride in her career as a nurse and attributes her success to her unwavering dedication to the field. In the coming years, she has set her sights on retirement, though she hopes to continue her work in project management and efforts to improve patient safety. In advising aspiring professionals, she notes that while many are attracted to nursing for its demand and good pay, they may not fully grasp the challenges and hard work involved. She emphasizes the importance of understanding the emotional and physical demands of the profession to ensure that future nurses possess the compassion needed to provide quality care.
