Dennis E. Hamson, RN, is a multifaceted professional with a diverse background spanning healthcare, military service, and public safety. His academic journey commenced with a Bachelor of Science in health and physical education from Central Connecticut State University in 1975. He furthered his education with a Master of Business Administration from Boston University Metropolitan College in 1981 and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State University in 1989. His commitment to serving others led him to pursue a career in health care, where he held the position of charge nurse at DaVita Acutes from 2007 to 2023. Prior to his nursing career, he served as a platoon sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1982, earning the rank of sergeant and receiving a Letter of Commendation for his exemplary service.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Hamson is a committed educator and instructor, holding certifications as a professional ski instructor, water safety instructor, first aid instructor, and emergency medical training instructor. He has also dedicated his time to various civic endeavors, including volunteering with disaster services at The American National Red Cross and serving as an auxiliary police officer.

Mr. Hamson attributes his success to his mother, who instilled in him the value of perseverance from a young age. Looking ahead, he remains determined to overcome health challenges and resume his volunteer work at the Veterans Affairs in Manchester. He finds the most rewarding aspect of his profession to be the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others through compassionate care and innovative solutions. Additionally, he believes in paying forward the guidance he has received by offering advice to aspiring professionals in his field: to remain open to new opportunities, stay committed to lifelong learning, and prioritize empathy and patient-centered care.
