Thuy Ly Thi Nguyen, MSN, FNP, B-C

Title: Traveling Nurse
Company: Favorite Healthcare Staffing
Location: Plano, Texas, United States

Thuy Ly Thi Nguyen, traveling nurse at Favorite Healthcare Staffing, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geriatric nursing.

With 14 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Nguyen has excelled as traveling registered nurse at Favorite Healthcare Staffing since 2022. She began her career with Parkland Memorial Hospital of Dallas, Texas in 2016, where she also served as council chair. Her responsibilities include overseeing patient care, advocating for patients, ensuring their safety and stability, and taking appropriate steps when patients require critical care.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Nguyen pursued an education at The University of Texas at Arlington where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. At Collin College, she obtained an associate degree in psychology in 2002. She continued her academic efforts at the Dallas College of Oriental Medicine, completing a master’s degree in acupuncture and Oriental medicine in 2006. She concluded her studies at Walden University, graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing, cum laude, in 2021. She is licensed in vocational nursing from the Dallas Nursing Institute, as a family nurse practitioner, a board-certified registered nurse, and an acupuncturist.

In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Nguyen remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She attributes her success to her challenging upbringing which instilled in her the desire to never return to destitution and accomplish her career goals.

Ms. Nguyen would like to be remembered as an advocate for her patients and someone who always wanted to do the right thing. Although she has yet to find the right opportunity that speaks to her to practice in the field, as a registered nurse, she is making a difference in the medical world. She considers this contribution to be her most notable accomplishment.

When Ms. Nguyen was an acupuncturist, her knowledge of western medicine was challenged by a patient who came to her for infertility. To become a better Oriental medicine practitioner, she pursued a course in vocational nursing. Once she began working in a long-term care nursing home, she enjoyed being able to administer help as an acupuncturist and a nurse. In the immediate future, she intends to obtain additional educational credentials to become a mental health nurse practitioner and help people suffering from mental health issues, especially those severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
