Sandra Williamson, Retired Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health care.

With more than 45 years of professional experience, Ms. Williamson is currently retired after working as an advanced registered nurse practitioner and certified nurse midwife with the Sajune Integrative Practice in 2021. Prior to this role, she excelled in the same roles with the OB-GYN Care Group and OB-GYN Specialists in 2020. Ms. Williamson also worked for Premiere OB-GYN in 2020.

Beginning her career in 1973, Ms. Williamson served as a registered nurse and obstetrics-gynecology practitioner, after which she was a staff registered nurse and labor and delivery practitioner at the Winter Park Hospital from 1974 to 1976. From 1977 to 1979, she worked at the University of Florida’s North Central Florida Maternal-Infant Care Project. Throughout her career, Ms. Williamson worked for the West Orange Farm Workers Health Association, the Central Florida Migrant & Community Center, and Florida Hospital South.

In preparation for her career in health care, Ms. Williamson graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, magna cum laude, in 1973. She completed the obstetrics-gynecology nurse practitioner program at the same institution and concluded her higher education at the University of Miami in 1981, obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing. Alongside her degrees, Ms. Williamson is a certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Nurse Midwife in the state of Florida.

Ms. Williamson was recognized in 2005 with a Professional Achievement Award from the National Association of Birth Centers. The same year, she was voted One of the Top 5 Nurse-Midwives in America. In 1979, Ms. Williamson was listed in Outstanding Young Women in America. She was additionally featured in the Orlando Sentinel.

To keep abreast of her field, Ms. Williamson maintains membership with Phi Kappa Tau, Sigma Theta Tau, the American Nurses Association, the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the Florida Nurses Association, the Florida Alliance of Birth Centers and the National Association of Childbearing Centers, among other organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys camping and driving around the state of Florida with her husband in their RV. In the future, Ms. Williamson plans to focus on educating the next generation of gynecology and maternal-infant caregivers.
