Ellen D. Chan, Registered Nurse IV at Kaiser Roseville Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in acute care nursing and health care.
Since 1993, Ms. Chan has served as a registered nurse with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. In this capacity, she has worked at the Kaiser Roseville Medical Center as a registered nurse IV since 2005. Alongside this role, she has shared her knowledge as an assistant professor at Samuel Merritt University since 2017. Ms. Chan has also been an adjunct instructor at Yuba College since 2014.
Prior to her current roles, Ms. Chan was a business owner from 1990 to 2005 and worked with her family-owned restaurant in 2001. To keep abreast of her field, she maintains membership with the California Nurses Association, National Nurses United and the California Federation of Teachers. She is additionally a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Chan attended California State University, Sacramento, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in public health. In 2014, she earned a Master of Science in Nursing in education from the Chamberlain University College of Nursing. Alongside her formal degrees, she also earned a Registered Nurse designation.
For her professional excellence, Ms. Chan received an Award for Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare from the International Nurses’ Association in 2017. She earned a Certificate of Recognition for the Lifesaving Action of Administering First Aid During Medical Emergency from the Heron School with Natomas Unified School District in 2014. In 2009, Ms. Chan received an Academic Achievement Award from the College of Health & Human Services at California State University, Sacramento.
Ms. Chan attributes her success to her family, particularly highlighting her husband and mother’s support. Among her achievements, she considers her perseverance and consistency in her work as her most notable accomplishment. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, learning about cultures and attending social gatherings.
