Shari Ann Bennett, RN, Retired Registered Nurse and Retired Nurse Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.
Now retired, Ms. Bennett most recently served as a licensed practical nurse and Intel I staff at Olsten Kimberly Quality Care, now Gentiva Health Services, from 1985 to 1999. From 1989 to 1998, she was a registered nurse at the Jewish Hospital with UofL Health. From 1999 to 2003, Ms. Bennett shared her knowledge as an assistant professor with the Kentucky Community & Technical College System. From 1982 to 1988, she served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a cadet, during which she was recognized with a Letter of Commendation.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Bennett completed coursework in the premedical degree program at Transylvania University. In 1988, she earned an associate degree in nursing at Kentucky State University. She was a Registered Nurse First Assistant candidate at Columbus State Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McKendree College. Alongside her formal degrees, she was certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. To keep abreast of her field, Ms. Bennett remained affiliated with the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, the Association of Surgical Technologists and the Kentucky Nurses Association.
