Marta E. Morales, BSN, RN, Trauma Program Manager at the Ryder Trauma Center with Jackson South, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care and trauma nursing.
Since 2022, Ms. Morales has served as a trauma program manager at Jackson South’s Ryder Trauma Center with the Jackson Health System. With expertise in trauma nursing and burn care, she ensures that high-quality trauma care is provided to patients and that the center meets state standards. She has additionally served as a registered nurse in the bio-hazard containment unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Shock Trauma Center.
From 2021 to 2022, Ms. Morales was a corporate critical care and trauma educator for learning and development with the Jackson Health System. From 2005 to 2012 and 2017 to 2021, she was a registered nurse and charge nurse in the trauma/burn intensive care unit at the Ryder Trauma Center. From 2013 to 2016, she was a registered nurse in the Critical Care Resuscitation Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Ms. Morales began her career at the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Shock Trauma Center from 2012 to 2013.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Morales attended Miami Dade College, graduating in 2004 with an Associate of Science in nursing. She continued her higher education at the institution, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020. Ms. Morales holds numerous professional certifications, including in Advanced Burn Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support. She completed the Trauma Nurse Core Course and is a certified advanced cardiovascular and basic life support instructor.
For her professional accomplishments, Ms. Morales earned the DAISY Award for Outstanding Work in Trauma Care from the DAISY Foundation for her work at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2016. She received the TICU Best Nurse-Physician Relationship Award in 2012, was named TICU Nurse of the Year in 2011 and TICU Rookie of the Year in 2005. To keep abreast of changes in her field, Ms. Morales is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the Society of Trauma Nurses, the Florida Committee on Trauma and the Association of Florida Trauma Coordinators. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, knitting, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.
