Beatrice Ulumma Abanobi, Registered Nurse at Houston Methodist Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.
Since 2001, Ms. Abanobi has been a registered nurse at the Houston Methodist Hospital. During her tenure, she spent seven years in the hospital’s heart failure unit and eight years as a critical care nurse. In 2001, Ms. Abanobi was a critical care nurse with Covenant Health’s St. Mary’s Hospital, and she previously spent two years in the hospital’s oncology department. For five years, she garnered experience as a faculty associate with Texas Tech University.
In preparation for her career in nursing, Ms. Abanobi attended Indiana State University and earned an associate degree in publications. In 1984, she graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunication and broadcasting with a minor in psychology. She concluded her higher education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University. Ms. Abanobi is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and was recognized as an All-American Scholar. In her spare time, she enjoys bicycling and walking.
