While her experience has warranted a promotion to various management positions, she loves interacting with patients and being by their bedside, and so she has happily remained a staff nurse for much of her career. To commemorate her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Lewis previously won the Ace Award, and she was recognized as Nurse of the Year in 2006.
Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Lewis pursued a formal education, earning an associate’s degree at Hudson Valley Community College and completing coursework at the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. In addition to her academic credentials, she is also certified as a critical care registered nurse. As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Lewis also remains affiliated with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. In light of her fulfilling career, she attributes much of her success to the love and support of her family. Ms. Lewis hopes to work in her field for as long as possible, and in the coming years, she intends to continue teaching and performing her bedside duties.
