Having accumulated two decades of experience, Ms. Washington has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of oncological nursing. Since 2020, she has operated as a nurse manager for the Mount Sinai Health System, where she oversees daily operations of various cancer service centers and ensures the nursing staff is operating in a safe environment. She originally joined Mount Sinai in 2014 as a non-np advance practice nursing clinical specialty coordinator. Ms. Washington began her career in the early 2000s, working as a chemotherapy nurse.
As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Washington remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Oncology Nurses Society and the New York Organization of Nurse Executives and Leaders. Furthermore, she bolstered her skills by pursuing a formal education at Chamberlain University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2020. Well regarded for her academic and professional accomplishments, she has been recognized as the first nurse manager to receive the DAISY Nurse Leader Award in May of 2022. Attributing much of her success to the love and support of her family, Ms. Washington hopes to continue advancing in the field of nursing, and she expects she will return to school to pursue a doctoral degree in nursing.
