Jennifer Jo Hamilton, director of nursing at CommuniCare, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in rehabilitative care.
With over 25 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Hamilton is a rising expert in the fields of long-term health care and surgical services. In 2022, she joined CommuniCare in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she operates as the director of nursing, overseeing resident maintenance and care, the nursing staff, and all clinical and non-clinical aspects of acute care in the clinic. Prior to her current appointment, she operated as an operating room manager at Deaconess Midtown Hospital from 2020 to 2022. Furthermore, she previously served at Union Hospital as a systems manager of quality management from between 2019 and 2020 and as a clinical educator for surgical services between 2018 and 2019. Ms. Hamilton began her career in 1996, working as a sterile processing technician until 2002.
Ms. Hamilton’s performance in the field was born of her educational journey, which began at Ivy Tech Community College, where she became licensed as a practical nurse in 2000. She subsequently continued her studies at Indiana Wesleyan University, where she earned Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2014 and a Master of Science in nursing in 2018. As part of her dedication to her profession, Ms. Hamilton also remains affiliated with the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. To commemorate her accomplishments in the field, she was previously nominated for Nurse of the Year in Surgery. To wit, she attributes much of her success to her commitment as a lifelong learner. In the coming years, Ms. Hamilton looks forward to completing her doctorate in nursing practice, and she hopes to work with various local boards so that she might expand her outreach in the field.
