As a career-best accomplishment, Ms. Augustine is a mother first and foremost and the most rewarding thing that she has done has been as the best possible parent for her son. Understanding every person’s individuality has helped her teach more effectively and realizing that she needed to accept help and that raising a child actually “takes a village” was an important factor in her career as an educator and as a nurse. Strictly a nurse at present, Ms. Augustine envisions returning to teaching because she believes she has something to say and something to impart. She also would like to found an independent business on her own, perhaps expand her motivational speaking and travel more often.
