Carlotta Williams, registered Nurse at CABS Home Attendant Services Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing practice and administration.
Originally hailing from Barbados, Ms. Williams studied practical and vocational nursing at Heatherwood Hospital from 1970 to 1972 and obtained an ophthalmology certification from Sussex Eye Hospital in 1976 and an orthopedic nursing diploma from Royal National Orthopedic Hospital in England in 1978. After immigrating to the United States, she earned an Associate of Applied Science as a registered nurse from the Helene Fuld College of Nursing in New York in 1985 and subsequently a Bachelor of Science as a registered nurse from Medgar Evers College in New York in 1974. Currently, she is studying toward a Master of Public Health at West Coast University.
Ms. Williams found much success as a registered nurse in England and later provided long-term care for adults living with long-term disabilities from 1994 to 2016. From 2017 to 2020 as a school nurse, she excelled as a health care provider using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the health needs of students, assessed environmental conditions that may prove hazardous to students’ health, performed first aid as needed and provided information to families and students on health practices including nutrition and safety. As a field nurse supervisor with CABS Home Attendant Services Inc. from 2020 to 2022, Ms. Williams conducted nursing assessment visits, provided an ongoing source of information and orientation to clients, collected data on client infectious disease trends and assessed clients to determine the effectiveness of service efficiencies. Attributing her success to her determination and perseverance as well as her compassion, Ms. Williams credits her years as a nurse in England as a major factor in laying the foundation of her practice. She is hoping to dedicate her time to volunteer for community activities and charities such as the Pan American Health Organization and complete her master’s degree in the near future.
