After initially obtaining a bachelor’s degree in 1991 from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, Ms. Hill subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the aforementioned school in 1998. She provided superior care as an intensive care unit (ICU) nurse with the Cleveland Clinic from 1999 to 2017, as a labor and delivery nurse from 2017 to 2018 and since 2019 as a core charge nurse in labor and delivery with Multicare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington.
In what she considers to be a career highlight, Ms. Hill captured the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses honoring nurses who provide above-and-beyond compassionate care to patients and families and was nominated in 2020 for Nurse of the Year by the March of Dimes. Ms. Hill, a member of the American Association for Critical Care Nurses, attributes her success to her passion for nursing. She feels it is a calling more than an occupation and feels blessed to do what she does. Ms. Hill feels blessed to be working in labor and delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic because she sees the toll that it has taken on ICU nurses like her daughter and friends. In the coming years, she would like to earn her graduate degree as a mental health practitioner.
