Claudia Delgado, Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing at The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of nursing.
The child of an educator and veterinarian, Ms. Delgado is living out her childhood dream of becoming a nurse. Determined to educate and care for others, she began her career more than three decades ago as a long-term care unit coordinator and charge nurse with Go-To Healthcare Placement Inc. She subsequently became a director of nursing quality improvement coordinator at four large medical offices. From 2000 to 2005, Ms. Delgado served as the special care coordinator at Wesley Towers Retirement Community, and for the last 17 years, she has continued to flourish in such important roles as director of nursing, charge nurse and traveling registered nurse. In her present role, she supervises up to 400 employees.
Ms. Delgado earned an associate’s degree in registered nursing from Brown Mackie College. Earlier, she was licensed as a practical nurse through Ozark Technical College. In service to her community, Ms. Delgado is an active member of the state chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and the Reno County Pandemic Influenza Advisory Board.
As a testament to her extensive background, Ms. Delgado has been published nationally on the topic of Alzheimer’s disease and has shared her expertise on radio and television programs. She is most proud of the lifesaving work that she carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic.
