In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Douglas has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. In 2005, she was presented with the Knight’s Kings Cross in Edmonton. Ms. Douglas likewise accepted a fellowship from the Salvation Army in Atlanta, Georgia.

Attributing her success to her humility and how she distributes herself, Ms. Douglas was drawn to her field due to her family’s involvement and influence in medicine as well as her desire to share her medical knowledge to people in other countries. She has also thrived as a result of her need to establish a connection with her patients to better help them feel physically and psychologically at ease, a quality that she cites as the highlight of her career. In the coming years, Ms. Douglas hopes to continue traveling while dedicating her time to redesigning a small hospital that her and her husband recently purchased.
