After obtaining an Associate of Applied Sciences in Nursing in 2008 from Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon, Ms. Ward provided superior care from 2008 to 2012 as a registered nurse specializing in obstetrics, gynecology and midwifery with Women’s Healthcare Associates, Women’s Health Center of Oregon in Oregon City.
Since 2012, Ms. Ward has flourished as a registered nurse with Kaiser Permanente Washington in Olympia. There, her primary responsibilities involve providing patient education concerning population education as well as creating a new process in the patient education and general management of gestational diabetes, also working in general triage and advice. Since 2022, she has been certified as legal nurse consultant and has been a registered nurse in Washington since 2013, in Oregon since 2008 and in basic life support by the American Heart Association since 2005.
Ms. Ward was inspired to become a nurse, and was particularly inspired to work in women’s health, after witnessing her grandmother deal with an undiagnosed myocardial infarction for several years, as this condition was considered to primarily affect male patients. Tragically, her grandmother passed away and Ms. Ward determined to provide better care for patients than the nurse who did not listen to her grandmother’s complaints of pain. She is committed to making health care better and more effective as a nurse. Her goal is to help people, especially women, advocate for their health and have the most information they can to better take care of themselves. In the coming years, her goal is to further her education as a certified legal nurse consultant.
