Janice Elliott, Director of Nursing at Overland Court Senior Living, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in healthcare administration.
After initially obtaining a bachelor’s degree of applied science in home economics and child development in 1974 from Kansas State University, Ms. Elliott later continued her education with an associate degree in nursing in 1985 from Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kansas and postgraduate coursework in counseling at Fort Hays State University and Wichita State University.
After providing superior care as a registered nurse specializing in home health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, most notably at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita and later an assisted living director in Great Bend, Ms. Elliott relocated to Idaho in 2002 and continued her career in home health and also as assisted living director at Overland Court Senior Living, a premier assisted living center in Boise. Ms. Elliott attributes her success to her strong faith and has dedicated her nursing career to the care of people that needed her assistance. She credits her supervisor at St. Joseph, Mike Rogers, for providing inspiration and guidance when she was a new nurse. In the course of her career, two patients have stood out, remaining in touch to the present: an Air Force lieutenant colonel who had served in Vietnam and cracked a vertebra while diving and a patient who had had a head injury from an ATV accident. Enjoying a well-deserved retirement since 2019, Ms. Elliott sees traveling to Africa in her future.
