He also frequently collaborates with psychiatrists, therapists and fellow nurses to administer highly individualized treatment plans. To remain abreast of his field, Mr. Shaddix holds membership with the American Nursing Association.
At the start of his career, Mr. Shaddix worked as a chemical process operator for Union Carbide, who presented Mr. Shaddix with the opportunity to pursue his education while also working. Taking advantage of this once in a lifetime chance, he went on to earn a PPN from Georgia Southern University in 1979, followed by an LPN from the Coastal College of Georgia and an Associate in Nursing. At the age of 40, he chose to pursue his dream of becoming a registered nurse (RN). Soon thereafter commencing his career in nursing, Mr. Shaddix excelled as a registered nurse with Savannah Memorial Hospital for nearly 15 years and established expertise in patient care at Gateway Behavioral Health Services and Heartland Hospice. Notably, he was honored as Employee of the Month at Gateway Behavioral Services in 2019 and at Heartland Hospice in 2011.
