Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Sandra Lowe, BSN, RN, a retired nurse, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of nursing.
Specialized in nursing, Ms. Lowe provided more than three decades of professional experience in her chosen field. Bearing a great deal of expertise in the management of nursing personnel and caring for patients, she worked in pediatrics as a licensed practical nurse and subsequently attained a role with Veterans Affairs on the medical floor of a hospital, which became a step-down unit for intensive care. Following this period, Ms. Lowe transferred to a local facility in Cleveland, Ohio, where she earned certification as a registered nurse at Cuyahoga Community College in 1976.
Following the attainment of her license, Ms. Lowe attended the University of Nevada, from which she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1984. During the course of her career, she served as a health services administrator for a women’s prison and worked at the Life Care Centers of Las Vegas. Ms. Lowe ultimately retired from her profession in 2009.
Outside of her primary professional endeavors, Ms. Lowe volunteers as a breast health educator with B&A Entertainment Services. As a commitment to her field, she has been active with several pertinent organizations, including the Southern Nevada Black Nurses Association and the honorable societies of Chi Eta Phi and Sigma Theta Tau.
Ms. Lowe initially became involved in her profession out of a desire to help others, as well as a marked lack of health care practitioners in her local culture. Aiming to achieve a high position as a nursing administrator, she is particularly proud to have assisted and mentored other nurses on the subjects of health care and their continuing education. In accounting for her success, Ms. Lowe credits the influence of her parents, who encouraged her to succeed, as well as the numerous mentors who have assisted her along her career path. Looking toward the future, she aspires to be remembered as someone who held a sincere passion for the profession of nursing and constantly strove to improve not only herself but also everyone around her.
