LaDonna G. Watts, Intensive Care Unit Nurse at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in clinical medical care.
Inspired by the careers of her mother and grandmother, both licensed practical nurses, Ms. Watts always felt that nursing was her lifelong calling. She began her career working at Evanston Regional Hospital in 1997 while working toward an Associate’s degree in nursing at Western Wyoming Community College. After graduating in 2005, she continued her studies at Walden University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ms. Watts moved into the emergency department at Evanston Regional Hospital in 2009 and spent the next three years as an ER nurse before accepting a position in the intensive care unit at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in 2012, where she continues to practice.
In recognition of her dedication to supporting her patients and fellow staff, Ms. Watts has been named Employee of the Month and presented with a Promise Star Award, among other honors. She is active in the American Nursing Association and credits her career success to her professional mentors and the initial inspiration she got from her mother and grandmother. Ms. Watts returned to Walden University in 2015 to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing, graduating in 2017. She considers earning her Master’s degree to be the proudest accomplishment of her career and an important milestone toward her ultimate goal of becoming a Licensed Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Watts is currently a Registered Nurse and holds certifications in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
