Miriam Y. Arroon, RN, MSN, regional director nurse executive at the Tenbook Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing.
Specializing in infection prevention, Ms. Arroon has accrued over three decades of experience in providing quality care for each of her patients. Born and raised in Guyana alongside nine siblings, she initially obtained an Associate of Science in Nursing from Hostos Community College upon immigrating to the United States. Encouraged by her brother, who also worked as a nurse, she later earned a Master of Science in Nursing to become a registered nurse. In her role with the Tenbook Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, she oversees three facilities within the Mid-Hudson and Hudson Valley areas of New York. Throughout her career, Ms. Arroon has found success as the director of nursing services at Lutheran Care Center, a nurse at West Ledge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and a certified nurse’s aide at the New Jewish Home and Hospital.
In an effort to remain abreast with advancements in the field, Ms. Arroon contributes her expertise to the New York State Department of Health for Ulster and Dutchess Counties. For her contributions to the field, she is proud to have been recognized as one of 100 Essential Workers in the Hudson Valley by Hudson Valley Magazine in 2020. Additionally, she is proud to have been a recipient of the Top 20 Nurse Excellence Award. Ms. Arroon attributes her success to her unwavering desire to enhance the lives of her patients, finding nothing more fulfilling than seeing their smiles after they are discharged. Looking toward the future, she aims to contribute to changes within the healthcare field by assuring accountability is present within long-term care settings.
