Sheryl A. Lowman, RN, BS, MS, CRNA, APRN, nurse anesthetist at Norwalk Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in anesthesia and nursing.
With extensive operating room experience, Ms. Lowman was inspired to utilize her expertise in order to administer anesthesia to a wide variety of patients over the course of her career. She initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and a Master of Science in physics from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. She was subsequently certified as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) and a registered nurse (RN) by the aforementioned institution. For 30 years thereafter, she provided anesthesia services to Norwalk Hospital. Driven by her natural desire to help others, Ms. Lowman is gratified to have assisted her patients in reaching normalcy after their respective procedures.
In addition to her career as a nurse anesthetist, Ms. Lowman founded First Class Gas Anesthesia. In this role, she and her husband traveled extensively around the country providing anesthesia services to each state, excluding Texas and Hawaii. Over the course of her career, she has maintained professional affiliations with the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, the Connecticut Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the American Society of Hematology. For her contributions to the field, she is honored to have been a recipient of multiple Pediatric Awards for Clinical Performance and awards for her performance in adult critical care. Moreover, Ms. Lowman is proud to have been selected for inclusion in Covington Who’s Who.
