Nancy M. Gruber, RN, MS, CCRN, CSC, CMC, Nursing Instructor at The Mayo Clinic, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cardiovascular surgical intensive care nursing.

From a young age, Ms. Gruber knew she wanted to pursue a career in which she could help other people and make a difference in the world. After graduating from high school, she earned an Associate of Science in business and secretarial studies from Normandale Community College. From there, she enrolled at Dakota County Technical College, where she acquired a diploma in practical nursing in 1995, and attained an Associate of Science in nursing four years later. Later, in 2006, she chose to further her education once again at the Johns Hopkins University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006. Finally, in 2010, Ms. Gruber concluded her academic studies by receiving a Master’s degree in critical care nursing from Georgetown University.

Since 2013, Ms. Gruber has excelled as a registered nurse in the cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit within the department of nursing at The Mayo Clinic. Prior to attaining this position, she gained early experience at Fairview University Medical Cente and Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as Care Focus in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Outside of her medical ventures, Ms. Gruber has served as an educator since 2013. Civically, she maintains an active lifestyle by volunteering with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Since 2002, Ms. Gruber has maintained affiliation with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and she has formerly been associated with the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the International Nurses Association and the World-Wide Leaders in Healthcare. Attributing much of her success to hard work, she hopes to progress in her current position for as long as possible.
