Kelly D. Anderson, RN WCC at Ascension Living Pace, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in patient care.
In 2007, Ms. Anderson became a licensed practical nurse from a community college in Flint, Michigan. She proceeded to remain there for one more year, acquiring an Associate’s degree in nursing and becoming a registered nurse. However, she did not anticipate becoming a nurse until she began working in direct care with mentally challenged individuals. She started her nursing career working in a nursing home, and specifically drawn to wound care. She was intrigued by the aspect of healing the patient as a whole and not just the wound. How each patient healed differently depending on their lifestyle, disease process, and dietary intake. Amazed by the many facets of the nursing profession, she became wound care certified with the WCC credential in 2015. After a few years of home and nursing home care, she started a new venture at Ascension Living Pace in 2020. She remains in this role today, continuing to consistently heal her patients of their ailments one day at a time.
Reflecting on her professional success, Ms. Anderson credits her passion for wound care for where she stands in her career trajectory. Determined and hardworking, she is steadily motivated to continue excelling in her field through her ability to heal those living with intense wounds. For Ms. Anderson, the feeling of looking at a healed wound and knowing she played an important role in the process is endlessly rewarding. Moreover, she was inspired to succeed by her mother, who always told her she could do anything to which she set her mind. She is additionally thankful for the infinite support from her son, A.J. Looking toward the future, Ms. Anderson hopes to continue caring care to her patients for as long as possible.
