Location: Hayward, California, United States
Dennis W.C. Wong, CVA/LVN at Kaiser Permanente, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Mr. Wong did not begin his career in the nursing industry. It was only after exploring the trucking industry and the paint sales industry that he felt drawn to pursue a career in healthcare. A former paint salesman and color blender at Sherwin Williams, Mr. Wong enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program after his wife lost her job. He initially only signed up to help her study, but he quickly found that he enjoyed the work because it enabled him to help others. After successfully completing the program, Mr. Wong became a nursing assistant with Home Health. He remained there for one year before taking on the position of a certified nursing assistant and licensed vocational nurse (CNA/LVN) with Kaiser Permanente in 2003. Mr. Wong continues to excel with the company today.
Backed by an Associate of Arts in marketing from Chabot College, Mr. Wong earned a Bachelor of Science in business management from California State University in 1985. He makes use of these degrees every day in his work, as he is constantly completing a variety of tasks. For Mr. Wong, this variety is what makes nursing so rewarding, as it is unique to the profession. He is always busy, which keeps him motivated to succeed.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Wong is an esteemed author. In 2019, his novel, “The Apricot Outlook of Katherine Koon Hung Wong,” was published. It is a biography of his mother’s life. Looking toward the future, he hopes to work on the film version of his book. It is planned to be released in the Philippines, but Mr. Wong hopes that it will reach the United States as well.
