From a young age, Ms. Baan always had her heart set on helping people. In order to fulfill this dream, she became a licensed nurse, esthetician, and later a licensed set nurse. Early in her career, Ms. Baan was working three jobs at once. She was a private duty nurse, a surgical nurse, and an actress. One night in between jobs, one of her friends mentioned to Ms. Baan that she had noticed she was great with people and also had already gotten her foot in the door of the entertainment industry. This friend suggested she audition for a set nurse position. At first, Ms. Baan was reluctant but she eventually applied and worked out because she is now a very successful nurse on movie sets.

Ms. Baan began her acting career at the age of 28. After sneaking past the security of a casting agent, she managed to secure the part of an unnamed hostage on “Nighthawks” in 1981. She later played the role of Fran in an episode of “The Sopranos” in 2004. Her roles are vast and include, but are not limited to, set nurse and medical consultant for the film “The Breaks,” with Breaks LLC, on VH1 in 2016, Guest host and various positions on radio shows with LifeStyle Radio on ABC RADIO from 2014 to 2015, co-host for LifeStyle Radio’s, “Beauty Expert,” and set nurse and medic for Tombstone Productions LLC’s, “A Walk Among the Tombstone.”

In addition to these prestigious roles, Ms. Baan has been a semi-finalist for Johnson and Johnson’s Amazing Nurse of the Year Award and holds membership with the Screen Actors Guild and Local 52. Her compassion drives her work and she strives to do all she can to help others as well as be a voice for the voiceless. She wrote the book “Are Miracles for Real? You Be the Judge” in 2019 and hopes to act in a family television series based on her book. Ms. Baan is also considering the idea of writing another book and wants to give people laughter, hope, and reassurance that God loves them as she attributes all her success to God.
