Janice Svoboda, Nurse, Nutritionist and Herbal Therapist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in holistic medicine.

Always conscious of her health, Ms. Svoboda wanted to ensure that her knowledge of caregiving was passed to others. In preparation for her career, she earned a diploma from the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1954. She was certified as a head nurse in the state of Wisconsin in 1955, and completed coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ms. Svoboda credits her director of nursing at Luther Hospital, Lucy Manuel, as an inspiration and mentor in her early career. In 1979, she accepted a position as a public health nurse in Ozaukee County, and started as an assistant instructor of nursing at the Milwaukee Area Technical College, where she continued to work as a seminar instructor until 1990. She continued her academic pursuits, graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Science in health education in 1980. In 1985, Ms. Svoboda taught courses in both assertiveness training as well as coping with stress, and worked at the Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee until 1987.

Pursuing her interest in nutrition and holistic medicine, Ms. Svoboda employed her knowledge as a nutritional counselor for Nutri-System from 1987 to 1990. She completed coursework at Alverno College from 1991 to 1992 and taught health seminars at the institution until 1995, additionally designing and implementing an alternative health and healing seminar from 1994 to 1997. Since 1997, Ms. Svoboda has worked as a nutritionist and herbal therapist, and in 2010, she was certified by the American Holistic Nurses Association. As a further testament to her success and stature, Ms. Svoboda has been selected for inclusion in the third edition of Who’s Who Among Human Services Professionals, as well as multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Nursing, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
