Lisa Paulsen, Chief Nursing Officer at Audubon County Memorial Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the nursing profession.
As a student, Ms. Paulsen attended the Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa, earning an Associate’s degree and an RN in 2002. In 2008, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and later in her career, she continued her education at Southern New Hampshire University, earning a Master’s degree in healthcare administration in 2018. In addition to her degrees, Ms. Paulsen is certified in Preoperative Nursing (CNOR) and certified in Surgical Services Management (CSSM). Growing up, her mother was a nurse, so she was inspired to pursue a similar career path, and she started as a staff nurse at Audubon County Memorial Hospital in 1997.
Ms. Paulsen worked as a staff nurse for more than a decade, and transitioned to a position as a house supervisor for Mercy West Lakes in 2009. She remained there until 2013, and returned to Audubon County Memorial Hospital as the director of surgical and outpatient services. After spending five years in her role, she rose to the rank of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at the hospital in 2018, where she continues to work to this day. In addition to her professional pursuits, Ms. Paulsen is an active member of her community, volunteering for various community activities and organizations, and serving as a member of the Exira Community Club. Currently, she oversees a staff of 35 people and plans to remain at Audubon County Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She is always conscious of changes in the healthcare industry and works hard to keep up-to-date with developments in the nursing profession.
