Karin L. Ciance, Assistant Professor of Nursing at Anna Maria College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of medicine.
Wanting to be a nurse since she was a young girl, Dr. Ciance is an assistant professor of nursing at Anna Maria College, where she teaches courses in health nursing, seminar, community health nursing, professionalism in patient-centered care, nursing research, and nursing in a global society. Additionally, she serves as the clinical director of urgent care at the Family Health Center of Worcester, Incorporated. She previously held the positions of a nurse manager of urgent care and a staff nurse with the same company between 1994 and 2004 and excelled as an associate nurse manager and a night supervisor for Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, from 1991 to 1994. Furthermore, Dr. Ciance was employed by Worcester City Hospital as a charge nurse.
Dr. Ciance pursued an education at the School of Nursing in Worcester City Hospital in 1983 and earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in nursing while enrolled at Worcester State University. She graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2014 from Walden University. Dr. Ciance is a member of the National Association of Female Executives, the American Nurses Association, the Massachusetts Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau. She has authored multiple articles for the Irish Journal of Nursing Care and hopes to attain tenure at her current teaching position in the near future. In recognition of her professional achievements, Dr. Ciance has been featured in the fifth edition of Who’s Who in American Nursing, the third edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, the 57th and 58th editions of Who’s Who in America, and multiple editions of Who’s Who of American Women.
