Karin Bass has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing.
At six years old, Ms. Bass became knew that she wanted to become a nurse. She was enthralled by the nurse’s cap. That nascent interest grew with her and she followed this passion to the Lutheran Hospital of Maryland School of Nursing, earning a diploma in 1967. She later received a Bachelor in General Studies from the University of New Hampshire in 1975. After more than four decades in nursing, Ms. Bass retired in 2012.
In 1968, Ms. Bass joined the US Navy Nurse Corps and served in active duty for two years. She continued with the Naval Reserves between 1971 and 1977. During her time in the service, she rose to a junior grade level lieutenant and was a lieutenant commander of the reserves. In her civilian career, Ms. Bass provided her care and expertise in medical services at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, NH, the VA Hospital in Baltimore, the Suburban Hospital in Betheseda, MD and Frederick Memorial Hospital in MD.
