Enid I. Lunan has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing.
An award-winning nursing professional with 56 years of experience, Mrs. Lunan celebrates a career that began in 1963 when she graduated the Kingston School of Nursing in Jamaica. Driven to provide the best care to her patients, she is highly regarded in her industry for establishing the diabetes unit at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where she had previously served as a head nurse for the medical-surgical area. Noticing the need for a diabetes area for inpatients, Mrs. Lunan was part of a team that transitioned off of medical-surgical to start this much needed practice within the hospital.
What separates Mrs. Lunan from others in the field is that she truly enjoys serving people in their time of need. In her career, she held a variety of nursing roles including medical-surgical head nurse for TMRMC, charge nurse in pediatrics for a children’s hospital in Washington, and head nurse of the diabetes unit that she helped create at the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. In recognition of her professional excellence, Mrs. Lunan was the 2018 City of Tallahassee Caribbean Heritage Honoree. As she looks to the future, Mrs. Lunan intends to do consulting in the field of nursing while enjoying her hobbies of sewing, trivia and word puzzles.
