Charles Benninger, Nurse and Health Care Administrator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in patient care.

Mr. Benninger decided on a career in the medical profession because he felt a calling to help people and serve the country. Aided by his abilities and dedication to working in an honest and loyal manner, Mr. Benninger currently serves as the Associate Director of Patient Care Services and Nurse Executive at the Sierra Nevada Health Care System. He has been in this role since 2013, and brings his previous experience as a Director of Managed Care, Head of the Alternative Health Care Department at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, as well as management and nursing roles with the National Naval Medical Center, the Naval Hospital in Guam and the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina. Mr. Benninger also served as Lieutenant Commander of the Nurse Corps in the US Navy from 1992 to 1997 and as a Commander from 1997 to 2004.

Set on his path to help others at an early age, Mr. Benninger first earned an Associate of Arts from Pennsylvania State University in 1972. He continued at Memphis State University, receiving an ASN in 1979. In 1981, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and followed the degree with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina in 1983. In 1993, he received an MHA from Baylor University. He is an associate of the American College of Health Care Executives. In his line of work, he has become known for caring and helping the people around him to grow in whatever area they needed to grow in.
