Tracy Lanes, Nurse Anesthetist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in critical care nursing.
As a United States Air Force veteran, Ms. Lanes takes great pride in all of her endeavors, especially when it comes to taking care of patients as a nurse anesthetist. She served in the US Air Force Reserve from 2009 to 2010 as a Chief Nurse. Ms. Lanes was inspired to become a nurse by her father, who also is a nurse and showed her the joy that comes from taking care of others. The passion for nursing is a family affair as Ms. Lanes’ stepmother and sister are also nurses. Since 2007, she has worked as a nurse anesthetist at Washington University.
Ms. Lanes first foray into nursing was set in motion by earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Missouri in 1987. She continued at the University of New Mexico, receiving a Master of Science in 1991. In 2004, Ms. Lanes became a nurse anesthetist through Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Ms. Lanes maintains that the success in her career is due to her dedication, commitment, hard work and having a genuine passion for her work. Looking toward the future, Ms. Lanes hope to care for more veterans as she is a veteran herself. Ms. Lanes receives an immense amount of personal joy knowing she has improved the quality of life for patients.
