Utilizing nearly 40 fruitful years of industry experience, Ms. Just-Lightfoot is a respected and versatile figure in the field of nursing. Having most recently served as a case manager and coordinator of the psychiatric teaching program at the Knoxville Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Knoxville, IA, from 1986 to 1997, she commenced her career with the facility in 1975 as a staff nurse in acute psychiatry. Alongside her primary roles, she also served as the federal women’s program manager from 1992 to 1995.

Prior to serving the Knoxville Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Ms. Just-Lightfoot served as a practical nursing instructor for the New Ulm School System from 1973 to 1974 and a staff nurse at Loretta Hospital in New Ulm, MN, in 1964. She began her career as a staff nurse at Mounds Park Hospital in 1958. To prepare for her illustrious career, Ms. Just-Lightfoot pursued formal education at Hamline University, where she earned a diploma from the School of Nursing in 1957. She subsequently became certified in psychiatric and mental health nursing.

Equally passionate about community endeavors, Ms. Just-Lightfoot has maintained involvement with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees, Meals on Wheels, and has been a longtime volunteer of the American Cancer Society – Iowa Division. Furthermore, she has been a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O) since 1993, and a volunteer with her local hospice organization Everystep Care (previously knowns as Hospice of Central Iowa) since 1998. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the industry, she received the Heart and Hands Award and was named Nurse of the Year by the Knoxville Veteran Affairs Medical Center. In addition, she has been selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among Human Service Professionals, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who in American Nursing.
