Leanne M. Castillo, Retired Charge Nurse at Westview Care Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing.
Drawing upon nearly four decades of industry experience, Ms. Castillo is a renowned nursing professional who most recently served as a charge nurse for Westview Care Center in Britt, IA, from 1983 to 1986 and again from 1987 until her retirement from the industry in 2003. Prior to this post, she was a staff nurse at Pinal County Nursing Center from 1986 to 1987. She commenced her career as a staff nurse at Algona Good Samaritan Home from 1980 to 1983.
Since 1988, Ms. Castillo has delved into the field of art, having been chair of the Britt Hobo Days Art Show from 1988 to 1997 and again from 2000 to 2001. Since 2017, she has been the owner of the Hobo Art Gallery, where she has preserved the history of Hoboes in Britt in oil portraits from 1900 to 2017. With more than 70 oil paintings of the Britt kings and queens to her credit, she was featured in the Horse Hospital Gallery in London, England, in 2013.
The recipient of a degree in nursing from Iowa Lakes Community College and a certificate in commercial design from Art Instruction, Inc., Ms. Castillo is a licensed practical nurse in the state of Iowa. A former member of the North Iowa Artists League, she has received multiple accolades in recognition of her accomplishments, including two Best in Show Awards from the Hobo Day Art Show and Art Arcade in 1989 and 1993, respectively. Likewise, she has been cited in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
