Connie Corso Nykiel, RN, Women’s Health Nurse and Consultant at Huntley Community School District 158, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing.

With decades of professional experience, Ms. Nykiel is a prominent staff nurse and consultant who recently retired from the health care industry in 2008 after serving as a substitute school nurse at Huntley Community School District 158 beginning in 2005. Previously, she held the same role at Reavis High School and Lincoln-Way High School in Frankfort, IL, from 1996 to 2001 and was the owner of a health care clinic for teenage mothers. Prior to these illustrious roles, she served as a nurse and health counselor for Catholic Charities in Chicago, IL, as well as a staff nurse in the obstetrics-gynecology units of St. James Hospital and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital earlier in her career.

A certified childbirth educator, ASPO/Lamaze teen specialist, and registered nurse in the state of Illinois, Ms. Nykiel holds a Bachelor of Science in health arts from the College of St. Francis and a Diploma from Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital. Civically, she has organized school nursing programs at Marian Catholic High School and was a childbirth educator at Hillcrest High School, having served as a volunteer in childbirth life skills throughout the state of Illinois at the turn of the century.

Ms. Nykiel has authored a number of books regarding young parenthood, abortions and miscarriages. She has additionally been an accomplished speaker in her field. In recognition of her exceptional achievements, she has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in American Nursing and Who’s Who Among Human Service Professionals. In addition, she was a March of Dimes grantee in 1990.
