A celebrated figure in the nursing industry, Ms. Jussaume has more than 35 years of professional excellence in her areas of expertise. Currently serving as a family nurse practitioner and graduate nursing faculty member at MGH Institute of Health Professions, Ms. Jussaume specializes in advanced practice nursing, family and community health, and advanced practice holistic nursing. She has been an integral part of the institution’s faculty who has provided knowledge and experience to her colleagues and students alike.
To prepare for her illustrious career, Ms. Jussaume first obtained a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, in 1978. She followed this accomplishment with a master’s degree in family practice and community health at the same academic institution in 1990. To expand her knowledge to other applications, she has been pursuing doctoral coursework in nursing practice at MGH Institute of Health Professions. Ms. Jussaume has been board certified as a family nurse practitioner.
A dual charter member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and member of the Integrative Nursing Consortium of Greater Boston, Ms. Jussaume is also involved in a number of civic engagements in an effort to give back to her community. She is a member of the Parish of St. Francis, St. Vincent de Paul, the St. Jeanne d’Arc School, and Saint Anselm College. In addition, she is affiliated with St. Louis Community College.
Interested in the nursing and education professions from a young age, Ms. Jussaume smiles fondly upon her past accomplishments, including her transition into the role of a nurse practitioner. Passionate about her service to the public, she takes pride in being able to help people physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Attributing her success to her passion and dedication to the field, Ms. Jussaume also credits her mentors who have continuously guided her on the path to success. She considers the highlight of her career to have been receiving a national certification from the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC) in advanced practice holistic nursing, resulting in the AHNCC’s recognition of MGH Institute of Health Professions as a facility in which students can sit for the AHNCC licensure examination. She was the first faculty member to receive such a certification.
In her spare time, Ms. Jussaume enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, hosting family events, and conducting rituals, celebrations, and gatherings. She has been featured in Elite Women Worldwide and Top Female Executives. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue working in nursing education and expanding her role in holistic practice. She is also contemplating branching out into end-of-life care.
